MELISSA THE PRUNE: A Story

One night Melissa Brownson's mother made Melissa take a bath.

"Oh, mom!  Do I have to?"

"Yes, you have to."

"I hate taking baths."

Her mother said, "Melissa, you need a bath," as she plugged her nose.

So Melissa took a bath.  It was so relaxing she  stayed in there for two hours.  She turned into a prune.

When her mother came back to say, “Time to go to bed or else you will turn into  a prune," she did not hear any answer.

She went into the bathroom and looked at her prune.

The prune's mother said, "AAAAAHHHHHH!  What shall I do?  I know!  I'll call the hospital.  No, no, no.  I will call an ambulance.  No, no, no.  I'll call the doctor."

The doctor came.  He looked like Santa Claus.  He said, “She’ll never be the same."

"She won't?"

"No, but we can bring her back to life.”

"Great!  Yippee!"  The mother jumped for joy.

But she did not know that it was a live prune that could talk and walk.  She was so excited that she did not hear the doctor say, "You might be disappointed."

She was disappointed, but they got to know each other and they lived happily ever after.
